Rights with Responsibilities : AMNS International School's Annual Day 2025

20-Dec-2025

The Annual Day 2025 of our school was celebrated on 20 December 2025 with great enthusiasm and dignity. The theme for the evening, Rights: A Beacon of Responsibility, was presented by students of Classes VI to IX and XI. Through this theme, the programme conveyed a clear message that a society thrives not by the rights it demands, but by the responsibilities it upholds.

The celebration began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by shloka chanting and Saraswati Vandana.

Mr. Ashutosh Telang, Director and Vice President, HR and Administration, AMNS India, graced the occasion. In his address, he congratulated the national achievers, teachers, and parents for their collective efforts. He also congratulated the Principal Ms. Sunita Matoo, on completing 30 years of dedicated service and spoke about how our school has grown into a well-regarded institution in South Gujarat. He shared that knowledge drives innovation, inclusion, and a better future, encouraging students to dream big, learn fearlessly, and lead with integrity.

Ms. Sunita Matoo, Principal of our school, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the AMNS School Management for their continued guidance and support. In her address, she emphasised upon understanding over comparison, she stressed the need to guide children, give them space to think, allow them to make mistakes, and help them respond thoughtfully rather than react impulsively. She concluded by stating that the role of educators and adults is not to label children, but to create meaningful learning spaces that keep curiosity alive.

As part of the celebration, teachers were felicitated for their years of dedicated service. The 30 Years of Service Award was presented to the Principal, Ms. Sunita Matoo, and the Sports Coordinator, Mr. Subrato Dutta. The 15 Years of Dedicated Service Award was conferred upon Ms. Meena Sharma, Mr. Parminder Singh, Mr. Thomas Rajan, Mr. Rahul Pradhan, Ms. Raman Sandhir, Ms. Kalpa Tandon, Dr. Bharat Tripathi, and Ms. Preeti Kaur. The felicitation was a sincere gesture of appreciation for their commitment and contribution to the school.

The International, National, and State achievers in literary, cultural, and sports activities were honoured by the Chairman of the school for their outstanding achievements. Academic toppers of the CBSE Class X and Class XII examinations were also felicitated, along with subject toppers in each discipline.

The cultural programme was centred on Rightopia, an imagined society shaped by fundamental rights drawn from the Constitution. Through this concept, the performances reflected present-day realities and highlighted how rights are often demanded without equal emphasis on responsibility.

Each act unfolded in the world of Rightopia, with characters such as Mr. Conscience and Ms. Responsibility guiding the narrative. Themes ranged from exploitation and freedom of speech to the freedom struggle, environmental awareness through a nukkad natak, and social responsibility. A magical mirror at the centre of the stage conveyed the idea of social equity and clearly distinguished it from mere equality.

Short advertisement-style segments were woven into the programme to promote consumer awareness. One of the highlights was Rightopia’s Got Talent, an ajab-gajab reality show where Mr. English, Srimati Hindi, and Pandit Sanskrit appeared as judges, symbolically representing the official languages of Rightopia. The segment carried a strong message that the world is one family and that every language has a home, echoing the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.

The cultural showcase concluded with a vibrant display of India’s rich heritage through Santhali, Koli, Jhumur, and classical dance forms. Together, the plays and performances celebrated the diversity, art, and cultural richness of India, leaving the audience with a meaningful and lasting message.
